Study Abroad

Nursing student surrounded by children in Guatemala

Ready for a global adventure?

Studying abroad is an opportunity for students to see the world, grow as an individual, and develop the necessary skills to thrive in the ever-increasingly interconnected world.

As a student at Westfield State, you have access to hundreds of programs across the world through our partner institutions and providers. You will receive credit for the courses you take abroad, and could even take courses to fulfill requirements for your major and/or minor. Additionally, by participating in one of our approved programs, most financial aid can still be applied.

Eligibility Requirements

All Westfield State students that meet the following criteria are eligible to study abroad:

  • Must be a full-time matriculated student at Westfield State

  • Good academic standing

  • No outstanding conduct violations

  • For first-time students: at least two semesters completed at Westfield State

  • For transfer students: at least one semester completed at Westfield State

Please note that each program has a GPA requirement, with most ranging from a 2.5 GPA to a 3.0 GPA. This requirement is set by the program itself and cannot be waived by our office.
